Ahhhh…Sweet Chick. I’ve been told several times that I haven’t had good chicken and waffle until I’ve tried the chicken and waffle from Sweet Chick. They were kinda right.
I started my brunch with a bloody mary. Now this bloody mary was really special, it was topped with a piece of bacon 🙂 🙂 🙂 As good as the drink was, the bacon just made it that much better.
For entree, we ordered the Shrimp and Grits and Chicken and Waffles. The Chicken and Waffles came with three types of butter; honey, berries, and sweet butter. The chicken was wonderful. It had a crunchy exterior and perfectly moist on the inside. The waffles were fluffy and delicious.
The Shrimp and Grits however, was a disappointment. It was too watery and too much sauce vs. grits. But the biggest disappointment was the shrimp. From my first bite, it was very obvious that they don’t use fresh shrimp. It was frozen/thawed shrimp and lacked flavor.
I would probably go back, most likely because a friend wants to test the hype, but will stick to the Chicken and Waffles.
