Taiwan Pork Chop House

Hi!  I’m Sharmin, let me take you to my happy place 🙂 🙂 🙂

I was introduced to this place only a year ago and I’m obsessed.  If you know me, you know that I love me some cheap, authentic, Chinatown food.  And it almost doesn’t get any cheaper or more authentic or more delicious than Taiwan Pork Chop House.

I love the picturesque menu… no I mean really….their menu is like a photo album.  Which is awesome, cuz this way you know exactly what you’re ordering.

The first thing you MUST order is the Smelt and Chili.  Yes, it is pretty spicy, but it’s oh so delicious.  I usually mix it in with my rice halfway through.  The tiny fish is packed with tons of flavor.   Another thing to try is their Cucumber and Jelly Fish with Garlic Sauce.  If you’ve never tried jelly fish, this is the place, it’s very lightly flavored.  Almost all their appetizers are about $3.50, so go nuts!

Now for the main course, you obviously need to get the CHOPS!  What I love about the Pork Chops is the minced pork and mustard greens that comes with it.  The pork chops are lightly fried so it’s got a little crispiness, but it’s really moist.  It’s not overly seasoned, so it has the perfect mild flavors that a perfect chop should have.

I also love the Taiwanese Marinated Duck.  It’s not too fatty like your usual roasted duck.  It’s soft and “fall off the bone” delicious.

All in all, if you want a real Chinatown experience on a budget, this is your place.  Everything on the menu is under $7.  Everything here is just delicious.  You’ll come out feeling like a hippy traveler .. ha!

Oh and don’t forget the Hot oil, to drizzle over everthing… mmmm 🙂

What I Had:

**Note:  Anything with the asterisk is what I would order over and over.  But seriously, everything here is awesome.
