Raita, the quintessential sauce in South East Asian cuisine. It is a yogurt based sauce, which can be mixed with a variety of herbs, spices… raita is pretty much treated the way hummus is treated, it’s a base that you build on to make your own special version.
Raita is mostly served with spicy food. The yogurt works as a cooling agent when your mouth is on fire from that spicy curry! It’s extremely easy and goes on just about anything from rice, meats, veggies, etc.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup of sour cream
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
