Cilantro Shrimp Fried Rice

I love this dish.  Takes about 5-7 minutes to make and is perfect for work-lunch (yep, I’m eating this at my desk as I type this post) or a light dinner.  Since it doesn’t require a lot of oil, eggs or various sauces like your usual fried rice, it’s pretty healthy.  It’s super light and

Blackberry Galette

Isn’t it oh sooooo pretty?!?!  I love making galettes!  Main reason why I love it so much, there are no rules when it comes to making galettes.  I kinda feel like a little girl making arts and crafts with playdoh.  Time and time again, I will catch myself humming while making the folds… haha.

Onion Tart

Soooo… it’s a random Thursday evening and I’m alerted that we are having guest over…. NOW!  Before I could say who/what/when… I hear the buzzer going off.  Urrrrgghh! Times like these, I always go semi-homemade.  I also almost always go with pre-made puff pastry…. as my sister says “it is your knight in shining (egg-wash glistening) armor.”

Spinach Lentil Soup (Daal)

This is one my favorite ways to cook daal, lentil.  It requires very little prep work and can be made in big batches.  I love serving this as a side or a main dish.  I also love taking this to work for lunch, it heats up beautifully.  With the spinach and turmeric, it’s super healthy

Blueberry Muffins

Not much to say about this, except that it’s amazing.  I’ve made this numerous times and it’s practically fool proof.  The original recipe didn’t call for it, but Sammys Kitchen suggested a hint of lemon (thanks Sammy 🙂  ) and trust me you don’t want to skip it.  Something about blueberries and lemon, they just go really well together.  Can’t
